What is a DO? (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)

Doctors who have a DO after their name are fully trained and licensed physicians who perform surgery and prescribe medications, but have a holistic approach to medicine. The DO philosophy emphasizes the treatment of the whole patient and not just the symptoms. When applied to plastic surgery, this philosophy also embraces preventative health care, nutrition, and a relationship where the doctor and the patient work together toward the common goal of excellent health and beauty. Dr. Buglino is one of the few plastic and reconstructive surgeons in the United States who is also a DO.
